DIVISION II (3A) & III (1A-2A)

 

 

Coaches,

 

I would like to welcome all the coaches to the start of the 2008 powerlifting season.  My name is George Luna, the Regional Director for Division II and III.  I hope that everyone had a great and safe football season.  THSPA is divided into three separate divisions.  Division I consist of 5A –4A schools, division II consist 3A schools, and division III consist of 2A-1A schools.  I am the Director of Division II(3A) & III(1A-2A).  Good luck to all the coaches and lifters on the upcoming powerlifting season.

 

1.                   Membership Dues

A.      The amount is 75.00 and made out to THSPA.  The dead line is Feb.4th 2008.  If your dues are not postmarked by Feb.4th there will be a late fee of $200.00.  If these dues are not paid after the deadline your lifters may not compete at the regional meet.

A.      There are some rules that have changed for the up coming year.  You can get the new rules online at http://www.thspa.org/.

B.       I will be posting all information including regional standings.

C.       If you are hosting a meet please fax the meet results to me at (361) 584-2549 by 4:00 p.m. on the Monday of the following meet.  If you are unsure that I have received your fax, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or cell.  If you are attending a meet outside the region make sure that you get a copy of the meet and fax it to me.

                                                                                                                               

2.                   Regional Meet & State Meet

A.      The final qualifying date is Feb.23, 2008.  The regional meet will be on March 8, 2008 @ Bishop High School.  I will send out phone #’s for motels around the area later.  Its going to be a six platform meet.  We are going to combine divisions DII and DIII together.  If you are lifting at a meet on Feb. 23 make sure that I receive the results of the meet by 12:00 midnight of that day. Weight declaration must be made by Feb 25th if you have a lifter that qualified in different weight devisions.   

B.       The State meet: Abilene Coliseum on March 29th 2008.

Feb.9-     Banquete/ Columbus/ Yoakum/ New Braunfels Feb.8th

Feb.16-   Gregory Portland/ Medina Valley

Feb.25-   Hebbronville/ Tuloso Midway Tentative.

March 8-Regional @ Bishop High School Division 2 & 3

March 29-State @ Taylor County Coliseum in Abilene
