Region IV Division II and III

Regional Letter

I would like to welcome you and your school to the 2008 powerlifting season. Enclosed, you will find several things that may be of use to you.

Topics of Discussion:

E-mail – Make sure as soon as you read this letter that you e-mail me so I will have your address. I also need a phone number, fax number, and your classification (A, AA,AAA).

Even if you think I have your e-mail address, send it to me anyway.

Regional Standings- Each week I will send out a list of the Regional Standings to our web site. thspa.org I will send the information in every Tuesday so you can stay updated on your lifters progress. Please note that only the top 20 lifters in each weight class will be listed.

Invitational Meets – If you are hosting or you are attending a meet outside of Region IV, make sure that the results get to me by at least 4:00 the following Monday. I am unable to accept results after this time. However, if this is a problem, contact me and we can set something up. Remember, it is your responsibility to tell the person hosting the meet to send the information to me. Make sure you remind them and give them my fax number to make it easy for them.

Rules and By-Laws Book- The entire book is posted on the THSPA web site (thspa.org). I would advise you to print a copy of the book and carry it with you to meets.

Dues – If you have not paid your dues, you need to do so as soon as possible. Make your $75.00 check payable to :

Please get your dues paid as soon as possible. Any school that does not have their dues postmarked by February 4, 2008 and still wishes to compete in the regional meet will have to pay a $200.00 fine before their lifters may compete. Please get your dues paid on time.

Regional Meet – The Regional Meet will be held at Coldspring High School on March 01, 2008. The entry fee will be $25.00 per lifter.

State Meet – The State Meet will be held on March 29, 2008 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene. The entry fee will be $25.00 per lifter.

Varsity and J.V. Totals – All totals from invitational meets will count toward the Regional Standings. This means that your lifters can lift Varsity or J.V. and still qualify for the Regional Meet.

Divisions – Remember there are 3 Divisions now. Division I (4A and 5A), Division II (3A), Division III (1A and 2A). Make sure your school is being entered in the correct division and let me know of any mistakes so they may be corrected as soon as possible. If you have any questions, problems, or if I left something out, please let me know so I can try to help you. Do not hesitate to call.
