Region II Division II and III
Regional Meet Information Letter
The Regional Championships
will be held at Gatesville High School on March 8, 2008. The regular season is
about over and it is time to make sure you have all the information needed
concerning the Regional Meet.
*** If you are going to a
meet on February 23rd, please email or call me and let me know. All results must be submitted to me before
midnight of the 23rd or they will not be accepted. Absolutely No
Exceptions.
Please read carefully the
following information:
1.
If a lifter cannot
compete for any reason, contact me immediately. I will have final results for
Regionals updated by Sunday afternoon so you can see where your lifters are. After 4:00 p.m. on Monday, 25th,
you will be responsible for the entry for your lifters, whether they compete or
not. Failure to assume responsibility will result in disqualification of your
team from Regional competition.
2.
Check the names and
totals of your lifters to be sure everything is correct. Also check totals of
your lifter and other lifters to make sure no one has been overlooked. If there
are any mistakes contact me ASAP. www.thspa.org
3.
All lifters must compete
in proper equipment. If you have any questions, check the Rules and By-Laws on
the website. www.thspa.org
4.
Any school that has not paid their dues will pay a
$200.00 dollar fine or their lifters will be disqualified from competition at
the Regional Meet.
5.
REGIONAL MEET-
Items to bring
a.
Entry fee- $25.00 per lifter
b. Checks payable to Gatesville
High School
c.
Eligibility Blank list from the Rules and By-Laws on
the web-site signed by your Principal or Superintendent.
d. Scholarship Applications for senior lifters.
6.
We will have a concession
stand for your lifters. A meal deal will be offered for $5.00. Hamburger,
chips, drink, and candy bar. Please let
me know if you plan to feed your lifters and I will have tickets when you
arrive. A Hospitality room will be
provided for all coaches and workers.
7.
Weigh-in for the
Regional Meet will be conducted from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7th
and 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th.
8.
Regional T-shirts will
be for sale for $20.00 each
9.
Lifting will begin at
9:00 a.m.

11. If you have a lifter who has qualified in two weight
classes, you must DECARE WEIGHT
by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25th, 2008. I will have the
regional website updated by Sunday February 24th. If I get no weight
declaration they will be assigned to the heavier class. Most coaches already
know what class they will declare lifters, please let me know ASAP.
12.
Please check the web site through out the week to
check for changes in the standings. There are always lifters dropping out. I
will update web site immediately when I am notified of changes so you can find
out where your lifter is in the standings.
13. The State will be on March 29th, 2008 at
the Taylor County Expo Center, Abilene, TX.
14. Entry Fee for the State Meet is $25.00 per lifter.
